I’m Karlie, a designer, patternmaker and sewer who’s worked within the fashion industry since ages ago and sees the need for change.
After graduating in fashion in 2000 I have worked as a designer, pattern maker, photographer, workroom manager and small business owner in New Zealand and internationally.
Recent years have seen my focus shift to circular design and waste minimisation, culminating in attaining my Master of Design.
During my studies I realised a large barrier to shopping in a more mindful manner is navigating the ever evolving ‘sustainable fashion’ world. To combat the greenwashing and excess information shoppers are faced with, I created this sustainable shopping tool specific to our New Zealand fashion landscape.
